The goal of such campaigns is to attract as many buyers as possible in a short time, drive up demand and raise the price of the asset, often divorced from its real value and technological basis.
Typical signs of inflated hype are loud, unsubstantiated promises, intrusive promotion in social networks and messengers, the involvement of opinion leaders for paid mentions, and pressure on potential investors by creating a sense of missed gain. Such methods are especially often used in dishonest and outright fraudulent projects.
What to pay attention to
- aggressive advertising and promises of quick high returns;
- the absence of transparent documentation, a team and a working product;
- mass uniform enthusiastic reviews and calls to buy urgently.
Healthy interest in a project is formed on the basis of technology, the team and real usefulness. Artificially inflated hype, on the contrary, serves as a signal for heightened caution: behind it often hides an attempt to resell the asset at the peak of interest.
